As a team at Kibbles Veterinary in Hemlington, we are proud to have achieved significant recognition for our efforts to make pet care more accessible and affordable for local families. Since opening in December 2024, our goal has been to provide affordable veterinary services through “free consultations, transparent pricing, and a welcoming environment” for pet owners facing rising costs.
Our commitment to affordability has truly resonated with the community, especially as household expenses continue to increase across Teesside. Many families have struggled with unexpected veterinary bills, and we are dedicated to easing this financial burden so that more pets can receive the care they need without added stress.
Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to meet with Treasury ministers and attend a reception at Number 11 Downing Street. Hosted by Chancellor Rachel Reeves, this event brought together small business leaders from the North East to discuss opportunities and challenges faced by SMEs. It was a chance for us to share our journey and highlight how our affordable approach is making a difference in the community.

We were honoured to be supported by Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland MP Luke Myer, who praised our work: “Kibbles has made a real difference in our community by providing accessible veterinary services. Their efforts are vital at a time when many families are feeling the squeeze, and their achievements highlight the importance of supporting small businesses that prioritise affordability and care.”
For us, it’s been an incredible journey. Richard and I are proud of what we’ve accomplished in such a short time, and we’re motivated to continue growing and serving our community. Our mission remains clear: to help families keep their pets healthy and happy without the fear of overwhelming costs.
As we approach our first anniversary, we look forward to expanding our services and strengthening our commitment to making pet care more affordable for everyone. We believe that community-focused veterinary care can make a real difference, and we’re excited to be part of that change.
