You’ll usually find me at the heart of Kibbles, helping our clients and their four-legged friends feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door. As a receptionist, I love welcoming our clients, meeting all the lovely pets who come through our doors, and helping keep the practice running smoothly’ although I’m always happy to pause for a doggy cuddle or two! I’m really proud to be part of the Kibbles team and love being surrounded by such a fantastic team and so many wonderful animals every day.

I’m a kind and caring person who loves making our clients feel comfortable and at ease. Whether it’s a friendly chat, a reassuring smile or a little cuddle when you need one, I’m always here to help make your visit as pleasant as possible.

Sarah Beckerlegge

Clinical Director

Raised in America with British roots and a love of James Herriot’s stories, Sarah studied Animal Science at Rutgers University before qualifying as a vet from Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2010. After working in equine practice, she helped develop a traditional mixed practice in Thirsk into an accredited small animal hospital and emergency centre, strengthening clinical standards and client care. Sarah joined Kibbles in June 2026 and became Clinical Director that October. Her interests include preventative medicine, pain management in older pets and improving the client experience. Outside work, Sarah has two young boys and three dogs: Pidge the Labrador, Pipit the Wire Fox Terrier and Woody the working Cocker Spaniel.

I am a dedicated Veterinary Care Assistant here at Kibbles Veterinary. I hold a passion for animal welfare and i enjoy assisting our vets and nurses with the preparation for the days theatre operations and inpatient care. I have a particular soft spot for our feline friends.

Lauren Wharton

Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2015, having spent several years working in practice beforehand. I love caring for our patients and making sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved while they’re with us. I particularly enjoy nurse consultations and inpatient care, building relationships with both our patients and their owners along the way. One of the things I love most about working at Kibbles is the lovely family feel and being part of such a caring team. Outside of work, life is kept busy with my two children, my dogs Evie and Peggy, and my cat Nigel, who all keep me on my toes!

Laura Bailey

Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN)

As a Student Veterinary Nurse, I am passionate about animals and dedicated to providing the best possible care for every patient. I hold a degree in Animal Science and have previous experience working in a charity veterinary practice. My passion for animals has also taken me further afield, including volunteering with rhinos in South Africa and supporting wildlife conservation in Transylvania. More recently, I have qualified as a Marine Mammal Medic, allowing me to further expand my knowledge and experience in animal care. Outside of work, I’m kept busy by my Indian ringneck parakeet, Kiwi, who you may spot in reception charming clients, entertaining the team and keeping an eye on our four-legged visitors!

I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in September 2026, having worked in various roles in veterinary practice since 2020. I’m passionate about giving every patient the care and attention they deserve, helping them feel safe, comfortable and reassured during their visit. I have a particular interest in exotic animals, surgery and anaesthesia, and I love continuing to learn and develop my skills. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me at the gym, bouldering or out hiking. I also love spending time with my two dogs, Max and Molly, who are always happy to settle down for a cuddle!
